My name is Lanjirō (蘭史郎), which is a pen name I’ve adopted as part of a Japanese tradition where artists often take on names inspired by historical figures to honor their greatness. In my case, I chose to draw from the renowned sculptor Michelangelo, incorporating part of his name into my own, hence the name “Langelo.” This reflects both my admiration for his monumental works and my personal dedication to the art of marble sculpture.

With deep roots in traditional stone carving and a commitment to contemporary design, I aim to transform marble into unique, masterful pieces that resonate with both history and innovation. Each of my works reflects the quiet yet powerful influence of my rural surroundings in the mountains of Hiroshima, Japan, where the tranquility of nature fuels my creative process.
